Yuriy Alekseev, Director General of the National Space Agency of Ukraine, said that the Ukrainian satellite "Lybid" interested Indian authorities.

In particular, representatives of the Indian government asked the Canadian company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA), which is a contractor project construction, and said they wanted to use the power of Ukrainian satellite to cover outlying regions of the Himalayas with communication. Ukraine has supported this initiative.

According to Yuri Alexeyev, "Lybid" will also be used for digital broadcasting in Ukraine, as well as to provide communications between Ukrainian peacekeepers in different countries, who are now paying for telecom services to foreign satellite operators.
