The residence of the Orthodox metropolitans Bukovyna and Dalmatia in Chernivtsi (Ukraine) is inscribed in the UNESCO's World Heritage list.
Such a decision (on the proposal of Ukraine) adopted during the 35th Session of the World Heritage Committee, the UN News Center reports (www.un.org).
Now in this building is the main bulk of Chernivtsi National State University named after Yuriy Fedkovych.
The residence of the Orthodox metropolitans Bukovyna and Dalmatia, built in 1864-1882 under the project of the Czech architect Josef Hlávka, is an organic mix of architectural styles. The building includes a seminary and the monastery and is an outstanding example of historic architecture of the XIX century.
