NBU Enters The New Year With The Monetary Reserve Of UAH 34 Billion
National Bank of Ukraine, together with its new head, Sergii Arbuzov, summed up financial outcomes for the year. Thus, the bankers said that monetary reserves of the National Bank by the end of 2010 will be more than USD 34 billion.
"Monetary reserves at the beginning of the year in dollar terms were USD 26.5 billion. On December 27, they are USD 32.7 million," - said the Head of the NBU Advisers Group Valeriy Lytvytsky.
Furthermore, he said that in a day or two will be valuation of currencies received for the second tranche of the IMF, whereafter the size of monetary reserves will be increased.
"To these USD 32.7 billion we must add another USD 1,5 billion - and it will be more than USD 34 billion. These will be our monetary reserves," - said Lytvytsky.
He added that the funds provided by Ukraine to the IMF will be distributed as follows: one third of the funds will support NBU monetary reserves and two thirds of the funds will be distributed to the State Treasury to support the state budget.
Remind that the President Viktor Yanukovych said that the foreign reserves in 2010 increased by nearly USD 12 billion and has already reached USD 38 billion.
