Ukraine has become a donor of medical personnel for many countries. Every year the country loses more than 6000 professionals.

The chairman of the Kyiv City Workers' Union of Health Larysa Kanarovska.

According to the expert, there are a lack of more than 3 thousand doctors and 4 thousand nurses in Kiev. The most effected spheres are emergency service, physiological service, X-Ray Services and laboratory services.

Kanarovska noted that staffing level of physicians is 76%, a third of employees is retirement age.

In her view, this situation occured due to poor working conditions of Ukrainian doctors.
"Over 20 years of independence in Ukraine has changed 16 Ministers of health. Medicine is funded as a last thing. This industry takes the next to last place in terms of the average wage, falling behind other industries in the budget of 400-800 UAH", - said the expert.

It also isn't allocated money for personal protective equipment for health workers, from which every 25 doctors in Kiev suffer from active tuberculosis.
