Yanukovych told about his impressions from EU-Ukraine summit
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said that Ukraine is satisfied with the results of EU-Ukraine summit.
"The Ukrainian side is satisfied with the results of summit. I think that it can rightly be considered a milestone in the development of bilateral relations" - Yanukovych said in press statement at a joint press conference, Interfax reported.
The President thanked the participants of the negotiations on the preparation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and EU, noting that the common understanding was reached with as to the full text of the document. "Our negotiating team reached an understanding as to the full text of the Association Agreement. I want to confirm the intention of both parties on the accelerated preparation of the text of the Agreement for initialing"- Yanukovych said.
Ukrainian President said that Ukraine would continue internal transformations in the country. Besides Yanukovych noted that during the summit the parties noted Ukraine's fulfilment of the first part of the plan to liberalize the visa regime. "We proceed from the assumption that work done would enable Ukraine to start implementing the final part of the action plan", - Yanukovych said. The European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso said that the introduction of visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU would depend on the fulfilment of all necessary conditions stipulated by the relevant plan of action.
