At the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, representatives of the European People's Party came in T-shirts emblazoned with "Free Yulia".

Italian MEP Licia Ronzulli, dressed in the same T-shirt, has said that defending the rights of Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, who is in prison on trumped up charges, and release should be a priority for the newly elected chairman of the European Parliament Martin Schulz. Ronzulli called the President of the EP Martin Schulz to care about the rights of former Prime Minister of Ukraine.

According to Ronzulli, the European Parliament can not remain indifferent to this issue.

"So I ask you, Mr. President, to make your first visit to Tymoshenko," - said the Italian European deputy.
