Ukrzaliznytsia signed an agreement with Russian company Ural Locomotives of buying 50 main-line freight-hauling electric locomotives, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
On February 1 the parties signed a corresponding agreement. According to agreement over five years it's planned to buy 49 electric locomotives of 2ESС10 series and one 2ES6. This year will be supplied first six locomotives, the next four years - eleven locomotives a year. All purchases have been financed at the expense of the funds attracted from Vnesheconombank (Russia). The amount of the contract is more than 10 billion rubles. Electric locomotives will be built without prepayment, and Ukrainian railwaymen will pay for the ready-made equipment.
